Burton USA 2010 Olympic Uniforms

Olympic Style
Burton unveiled thier team uniforms for the United States Snowboard Team to be worn at the 2010 Olympic Games that will be held in Vancouver BC this Winter. The uniforms are a great mix of style with a bit of tradition thrown into the mix. According to the Burton designers: “This time around we gave the “kits” a very classic American style (jeans and flannels), and tried to put as much “snowboarding” into the uniform- which by definition is not very snowboardy. If the early season conditions of British Columbia are any indication, the riders probably wont need it, but we colab’ed with GORE-TEX on these to make sure they are the most awesome uniforms possible, both fashionable and functional.” Dope. Look for these this coming February on all the US National riders.

686: Design It

686 x You
Designing outerwear is a lengthy process that is often overlooked once we see the finished product on store shelves. A lot of thought and research go into each and every piece and that jacket you’re wearing probably went through numberous design revisions in board rooms before it ended up looking how it is. 686 Outerwear is allowing everyone the opportunity to take part in this process. They’re running a design contest where you can mock-up 686 jacket and pant concepts and colorways. One winner will be chosen to have their design custom made, with the possibily of it being included in a future collection. Get your Illustrator on and get cracking, the contest ends Novermber 1, 2009. More information at 686 Outerwear.
