Totally Orange
With Nike ACG’s 20th anniversary in full-swing, we’ve been seeing a lot of retro footwear being re-released over the year. Let’s not forget some of the new models that they are releasing as well, soon to be future classics like the Zoom Ashiko Flywire Boot, shown here in a Total Orange colorway. The boot utilizes Nike’s new flywire technology for support on those long hikes back to you car in the parking lot. Available from Nike retailers for MSRP $180.

Celsius Snowboard Footwear is running a design contest where they will be accepting ideas and concepts for new boot designs. The Celsius team will choose the 3 best boot designs and have them featured on the website. The winner will more than likely get their boot produced by Celsius. 2009 is looking strong for the Swoosh
The next artist to collaborate with Nike on their snowboarding line will be none other than Mark Dean Veca. Not much else is known about what the products will look like, but expect a graphic treatment on boots and other softgoods in a similar style as the official wallpaper above.

Kaiju is the Future
Next season’s boot offering from Nike Snowboarding looks to be promising with the introduction of their second model, the Zoom Kaiju. This is a more technical style boot compared to their initial Zoom Force 1, and offers a host of new features. The most notable being a Nike Free sole with zoom air cushioning, which gives better feel and better impact resistance. A one piece TPU backing in the rear helps prevent wear and tear from binding crunch, while offering greater flex front-to-back. The boots will come in four colorways and retail for $350 USD. Available in 09/10.

FUL Blood
Independent footwear brand JB Classics joined forces with Ride Snowboards for a second time to develop a special collection of design driven products. The collection consisted of a Ride x JB Classics FUL boot, Alpha MVMNT binding, and Society board, all treated in a gruesome blood splatter theme. The products were released through Ride’s Artist Series and are backed up by a limited edition pair of Peddler sneakers from JB to tie things together.

Unknown Pleasure
Peter Saville, known for his work with Factory Records and a legendary designer in his own right, has collaborated with DC Snowboards this season to produce a line of gear with his iconic style. DC will be releasing boards, boots, outerwear and soft-goods adorned with an updated contour graphic reminiscent of Saville’s 1979 cover art for Joy Divisions “Unknown Pleasure” album. Don’t drink the yellow snow DK-YS
The second artist-based collaboration from Nike Snowboarding has Seattle-based artist Arbito doing the graphics for Danny Kass’ signature Zoom Force 1 boot. The very colorful all-over pattern is reminiscent of everything psychedelic and wild, and fit perfectly with Danny’s swagger. Arbito’s drawings extend into a collection of t-shirts, poster and jacket, which are available at select retailers that carry the line. The DK-YS microsite ties everything together with a great video to put everything in context. Check it!
