Known for their no-fuss practical basics, Base Control teamed up with cutting edge footwear manufacturer Native Footwear to drop a collaborative effort that will keep your feet looking sharp in those cold Winter months. The Fitzsimmons is a hiker style boot made with a one-piece injection moulded EVA shell and neoprene inner-boot. Releasing in black and purple and black and red colorways, they’re a perfect lightweight boot to stomp around in.

Shine on
Nike Snowboarding hosts a special art show every year at the SIA. This year 12 teams from around the globe will be showcasing their talent by re-appropriating their vision into the canvas that is the Zoom Force-1. Here is a taste of what is to come from Photographer Jeffery Garland, who documented one of the twelve team’s process from start to finish. More great photos can be seen on his website. DK Knows Boots
Once again Nike Snowboarding hits hard with the 2012 version of team rider Danny Kass’ signature model, the Nike Zoom DK. Developed with Danny Kass using superior Nike R&D technology, the 2012 model features a premium compression molded synthetic leather wrapped phylon midsole with embedded zoom air in heel to keep your feet protected from those hard landing. Ergonomic shell construction, warming Strobel technology in the liner and shell, and Dunk inspired “winglike” ankle straps for added style points round out only some of the features that make this boot a must have for 2012. Available from Nike Snowboarding retailers and finer snowboard shops worldwide.

Long time Nike Snowboarding team rider Laura Hadar releases her new Nike Zoom Force 1 boot in a big way, with an official video launch. Trippy stuff brought to you by director Brad Kremer and put together by his new creative, design and production company, Tytan. The Women’s Zoom Force 1 boot is out now, pick up a pair before the season is over!

 

Let’s do work
For more than 100 years, Red Wing Shoe Company has been crafting purpose-built work footwear for specific jobs. Modern craftsmen trust Red Wing to deliver premium quality work boots and shoes with the features, fit, and service required for their demanding jobs. It’s no suprise that this attention to detail and craftmanship has been recognized by Burton Snowboards, for their upcoming 2011/12 season collaboration. Both brands are known for their hard work and pride themselves innovators of their respective disciplines. For their special Times collection, snowboard outerwear brand 686 has once again collaborated with sneaker manufacturer New Balance on a footwear and boot collection. This time around there are more offerings, including two boots and three sneaker models that encompass fit, function and superior workmanship. Return of the Kass
Next season’s Nike Snowboarding lineup debuts their first signature model for none other than Danny Kass. The Danny Kass Signature Boot was designed with Danny and features artwork and branding by Mark Dean Veca. The boot has a more streamlined appearance and features ergonomic shell contruction, premium compression molded, synthetic leather wrapped phylon midsole with embedded zoom air in heel, heat Moldable Liner for custom fit, and a ton more features that you’ll have to wait til the Fall to find out. Bonus points go to the Dunk inspired “winglike” ankle strap for added style. Look for this model in two colorways releasing in September and October this year.

Get Laced
In other collaboration, get-together, and teaming-up news from the SIA, we see an interesting one that makes a whole lotta sense, coming straight from the Burton booth this year. Burton makes great boots. Starks Laces makes great laces. For 2011, they got together to collaborate on a special model of the Burton Hail boot, featuring Starks laces. The boot takes cues from hunting with it’s real-tree camouflage, quilted panels and safety orange accents. Look for this model next season!
