Michael Akira West – “in MY eyes” Installation Two

Cash Money
686 founder and creative director Michael Akira West has once again used the brand’s technical outerwear as a medium for his artistic expression with the second iteration of his “in MY eyes” installations. Installation 2 explores the theme of money, and touches on the different symbolic meanings of this derived through polar opposites, such as Greed Vs. Good, Rich Vs. Poor, and Want Vs. need, among others. The jacket that was produced for this installation was composed of over one thousand $1 USD bills that were laminated to the fabric, and despite this currency addition, still continues to uphold to 686′s core technical standards by being waterproof.
